In comes Dane, the younger brother of one of Laney's dorm mates. And all the fine notions she's ever had walk right out the door.
It's inevitable, no one wants to hurt the other, but someone in the end will end up alone. I'm surprised at how much I really liked this book. Not only did I love the book but I couldn't put it down. Laney Walker was raised by her dad after her mom disappeared one day when she was still young. She and her father are very close, he taught her softball, and coached her team until high school.
At the age of 10 Evan Allen and her became good friends and inseparable. He's always protected her especially when every so often there's someone leaving her little notes or sending her flowers. Senior year Evan finally tells Laney how he feels and they date.
Due to a friends treachery and her not getting into the same college as Evan she decides to break things off with Evan. At college we slowly see Laney open up and come into her own with the help of Dane Kendrick. She's very guarded and don't trust easily but she's able to hold her own. Dane Kendrick happens to meet Laney by chance when he's hanging out in his brothers dorm room during a hall crawl. Dane can't take his eyes off her and knows right off that she's guarded and real.
He has many secrets and he's worried that Laney will leave him when she discovers them. That's if he can ever get her to be his first. Dane wants nothing more than a relationship with Laney and being the one who takes care of her and protects her. They instantly connect but she won't commit because of Evan. Dane knows that he just has to find a way to make her open her eyes and see that he's the one she should be with. Laney is torn. She has feelings for Evan and Dane.
She loves Evan but is she in love with him? Dane makes her feel safe, loved, beautiful, and special.

She has strong feelings for him and she knows he feels the same way about her, but is it stronger than what she feels for Evan? Follow Laney on her journey of self-discovery as she goes through her first semester of college. Experience the laughter, love, and pain she feels while trying to figure out what she wants. Hall told this story beautifully. You can't help but feel for Evan, Laney, and Dane through out the story. I love the dynamics and the closeness of Laney's group of friends in college. I will most definitely recommend this book to all my friends. I look forward to reading more from S.
I had a few issues but not enough to be distracting. Very good story. Emotional, sexy, and heart aching in just the right combinations. I enjoyed every bit of it! I love the "Crew".

An awesome group of friends that I haven't come across since the D-Bags! I like when secondary characters are well developed and just as interesting as the main characters. Straight on to book 2.
You know normally when it comes to love triangles I can pick a side immediately. That wasn't the case with this one.
I went back and forth. I was so excited and happy for things to progress with her and Evan that at first I wasn't happy about a new guy entering the picture. But it wasn't long before Dane stole my heart too. Between Evan and Dane, Laney had a hard choice to make..

I liked Laney for the most part. I understand why she couldn't make a decision but after awhile I kinda wanted to shake her a bit. All in all I was happy with who she ends up with and am looking forward to the next book. It was hard to really pick a side because both guys were great, but I will admit her choice in the end is the one I was rooting for, even though I didn't want to see the one she didn't choose hurt, I feel like she made the right choice.
Laney is the girl-next-door tomboy and Evan is her best friend until college gets in their way. She meets Dane, who has a magnetic attraction for her. Usual love triangle fluff. This seemed like the typical poorly-edited free romance digital book - until the very end.
Then I got stinkin' mad. The rest of the series isn't available on the Nook. It also ended with a cliffhanger. So I went to find out what happened in the next books. The love triangle got resolved, but not in the way I thought it would. So mad. Edit: I was so upset by the ending that I was physically sick and nauseated for a bit.
It's not a bad ending or author, but I didn't like it. Here at Walmart. Congrats Holly L winner of the. Congrats Adrienne W winner of the mouse pad. Rebecca Griffin is the main character in the book. It starts out with the background of her family. Granted if you never grew up with this type of family it is hard to relate to.
My Mother is still the exact same way, some say harsh. Still has plastic runners over the carpet, makes gravy on Sunday and is on an all out war with someone every day. That being said I did totally relate to her.
Things take a turn when Rebecca learns of a few things, one being her husband is having an affair. Now Rebecca has issues with Dana her daughter. I sort of needed a little more Dana. Rebecca was a little over the top with Dana and worries sometime lead to you asking a question of yourself. Do you think you can change her?
